In my opinion the best thing about living in Louisiana is the way we celebrate our culture through the many festivals we have throughout the year. From the Strawberry Festival to the Festival of Lights, we have around 400 festival a year, which makes it hard for other states to keep up. As a kid I can remember going to the strawberry festival and finding strawberries as big as my hand. The Crawfish festival is also a great festival to attend. In Louisiana we eat crawfish in several places other than just at our house. Its not uncommon to find people eating crawfish while out tail gating, at a company get together, or even at a birthday party.
Louisiana is also know for its Unique food. Crawfish, Jambalaya, and étouffée are just a few foods unique to Louisiana and can be prepared in many different ways. My personal favorite is hot boiled crawfish, Closely followed by a spicy sausage jambalaya.
Over the years, I have heard of a few misconceptions people have about Louisiana. One being that every one has a swamp for a back yard, and there are alligators every where. Louisiana contain only 45% of wetlands found in southern states, and its not to often you see an alligator unless your out in the deep bayou. Another misconception is that every one speaks French. There is actually only around 100,000 French speaking people in Louisiana.
This is just a small look into this amazing state called Louisiana. If you want to know more come down for a visit, and who knows? You may end up moving here.

"Blair Humes did a terrific job understanding our needs and worked long and hard locating the right property among many for our investment, advising us on location and renovation possibilities along the way. He then structured our offer so that it was the one that was accepted. I've worked with real-estate people before in buying several houses and Blair is easily the best in my experience."
